Player Evaluations

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]All registered players in Grade 1 through 12 (Mites through Bantam) are required to attend the RCFHA Player Evaluations on Saturday, September 21st at Burnett Secondary.

Please note the following important information:

  • Players that are not yet registered are still allowed to attend evaluations (please let the registration desk know if you are not yet registered)
  • If teams need re-balancing after the season has started, it may be necessary to swap players between teams. Players to be moved will be chosen in this order:
    1. Players that did not attend evaluations and were not registered by September 21st will be the first to be moved
    2. Players that did not attend evaluations but were registered by September 21st will be second in line to be moved
    3. Players that did evaluate but were not registered by September 21st will be the last to be moved

These are not tryouts but just a simple assessment of each player’s skill and experience level which will help us to form more balanced and fair teams. Players simply need to come out and play like they would at any regular season game.

The evaluation will involve playing in a short scrimmage with players in the same age bracket, followed by some simple skills drills in the small gym. New players are encouraged to review the rules on our website however, penalties and running fouls will not be called, but may be pointed out to the player as necessary. Players should wear their knee and shin pads (new players unsure of equipment, please see our FAQ on our website).

Players will be taken in on a first come first serve basis so please arrive early for your division’s time slot. All players must register upon arrival at their designated time for their division as listed below in order to participate:

Saturday, September 21st:

Mites (2011/2012/2013) – 9:00am

Inaugural President’s Challenge Cup

RCFHA is very excited to announce the inaugural RCFHA President’s Challenge Cup to be held on March 5th, 2017 at the end of our tournament weekend. We are still fine tuning all of the details but here is what we can tell you:

  • We will be asking coaches to submit a short list of players from their teams to compete in 2 winner take all games. The players will be chosen on a number of categories including sportsmanship, team play, work ethic as well as overall skill.
  • Game One will be comprised of a mix of Jr. and Sr. Squirts players and Game Two will be comprised of a mix of PeeWee and Bantam players. Mites players will not be included in these games.
  • Every team will have a minimum of one player represented in one of the two games.
  • The games will be coached by the President and Vice-President along with a small selection of coaches from each of the divisions involved in each game.
  • All Cosom rules will apply with the exception of NO mercy rule in these two games
  • Selected players will get a special President’s Challenge Cup shirt for the game that they can keep
  • Winners will get to pose with our new President’s Challenge Cup trophy.
  • Selected players will be contacted directly by the league by the end of January.

Stay tuned for more details!

Protective Eye Wear

Not long ago, athletes rarely wore eyewear specifically designed to protect their eyes during sports, and sports-related eye injuries were widespread. Today, sports eyewear can be spotted on almost anyone who picks up a ball, bat, racquet or stick — whether they play in the major leagues or the Little League.
