Marcel Doucet Scholarship Award

At the end of each season, the RCFHA will accept applications for the Marcel Doucet Scholarship Award. It is awarded to an applicant in their Grade 12 year or First Year Post-Secondary. Applicants who have made significant contributions to RCFHA, demonstrating a high level of sportsmanship and team spirit along with maintaining our RCFHA philosophy. 

This scholarship serves as a testament to our commitment to supporting the  development of our players, both on and off the floor. We firmly believe in the power of education and athletics to shape individuals into future leaders and contributors to our community. 

Scholarship

  • An award of $800 (subject to change) will be granted to the successful applicant, which can be used toward post-secondary expenses. The payment will not be made until the winner has provided the league with proof of enrollment in a post-secondary institution. The award is valid for redemption up to 2 calendar years from the administration date. 
  • A decision will be made on the quantity of awards to be given out once all applications are received. 

Selection Process

  • Any Executive member who is related to an applicant or chooses to abstain from the process will not be involved in the selection/voting process in any way 
  • The remaining eligible Executives will vote on finalists, the number of awards and a recipient 
  • A discussion of the finalists’ applications will be conducted prior to selection of a recipient 
  • The recipient will be announced on the final day of the tournament 

Application Requirements

  • Applicant must be in Grade 12 or First Year Post Secondary at the time of their application
  • Applicant must be planning to enroll full-time in a Post -Secondary program at a recognized institution within 2 years from graduation along with proof of enrollment  
  • Applicant must be a member or a volunteer of the league
  • Applicant must complete this form
  • Past recipients are ineligible to apply in subsequent years
