February Schedule Updates

Hi Everyone

Please see below for important schedule updates and tournament info

Feb 7th Legacy Game:

We are hosting a Legacy Game in honor of the league’s 50th anniversary *this Saturday at 6:30pm*

The Legacy Game is meant to recognize past generations of the League in a fun but casual game setting. We have several past coaches playing, as well as a lot of female players from the 90s and 2000s, back

when our league was a girls only league/when there was a separate girls division.

Please invite your teams to come/stick around on Saturday to watch!

Merch Pop-up on Saturday, February 7th

We will also set up another pop-up table with our 50th Anniversary logo merchandise for purchase on Saturday, February 7, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. If you missed this during Photo Day, here’s another chance to purchase some memorable merch!

Feb 8th Adult Games Cancelled:

Just a reminder, all Adult games this Sunday Feb 8th have been cancelled for the Super Bowl. We will be running a drop-in style scrimmage from 5:30-7:30PM instead. Adult players wishing to participate are asked to bring both their home and away jerseys.

Feb 21st/22nd Cosom Selects:

  • As you all know, Cosom Selects will take place on Feb 21st and Feb 22nd. Details are as follows.
  • Mites Division: an additional game will be held after the regularly scheduled Mites games on February 21st; this will be a sign-up jamboree game where teams are made on the spot and is a great chance for players to meet new peers. The sign-up form will come out by this weekend.
  • Junior Squirts, Senior Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam Divisions: A player from each team will be participating in one of 4 different skill competitions against their peers from other teams in the same division.
  • A Selects Game will also be played – coaches will nominate players from their own team to participate in the game based off a combination of sportsmanship, teamwork and skill. For Junior Squirts to Peewee, it will be a regular length 5v5 game. For Bantam, the game will be played in the 4v4 overtime format with three 10-minute periods.

Skills Competition:

  • Accuracy Shooting: contestants will have 15 pucks and 30 seconds (whichever runs out first) to knock down 4 targets – one in each corner of the net.
  • Whoever defeats the most targets (or uses the least time to defeat all 4) wins.
  • Fastest Runner: contestants will simply race against each other (with sticks, without pucks) from one end of the gym to the other. Whoever wins the race wins.
  • Hardest Shot: contestants will have 3 attempts to record the highest possible shot speed according to a radar gun. Fastest shot speed wins.
  • NOTE: the radar gun can be sensitive – it is suggested to aim directly for the radar gun behind the net when shooting.
  • Passing Challenge: contestants will have 8 pucks and 30 seconds (whichever runs out first) to pass into 2 different mini nets.
  • Whoever gets the most pucks in the two nets combined wins.

2026 Tournament Schedule:

We hope you are all excited for the upcoming Tournament, and so we are pleased to publish the Tournament Schedule, see attached. The Tournament will take place on Saturday Feb 28th, Sunday Mar 1st, Saturday Mar 7th, and Sunday Mar 8th, with all games occurring at Burnett Secondary.

You will notice that teams are not yet scheduled into specific slots. This is because the games on Feb 7th and Feb 8th will be the last games that will count towards seeding for the Youth Divisions. Once Youth seeding is decided this weekend, we will update the website for the Round Robin games and inform your Team Managers late next week. Some of the elimination games may be subject to change.

If you’d like to be a sponsor or donate prizes for the tournament, please e-mail donations@rcfha.org

Canadian Brewhouse Collaboration:
